Chicago voters have five months until they cast a ballot for mayor- and that’s a good thing because they’ll need all that time to sift thru the more than a dozen official candidates. And with the incumbent- mayor Emanuel deciding against running for a third term- more are expected to jump into the race. As a matter of fact that just happened yesterday when a man whose name is as Chicago as well…Chicago announced his candidacy…William Daley. Bill Daley is the son of Mayor Richard J. and the brother of Richard M. Daley.

He served as Commerce Secretary under President Clinton and Chief of Staff to President Obama. In 2014, he ran for Illinois governor against incumbent Pat Quinn on the Democratic ticket before dropping out of the race. After that short lived run- he said he would never again seek public office, yet here he is running for mayor the third largest city in the U-S.He stopped by the Morning Shift to talk about his candidacy.
