With all the civic excitement over the World Series win by the White Sox, it’s easy to overlook Chicago’s other winning team. The Chicago Fire will face the New England Revolution Sunday in the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference Finals.

All season, loyal Fire fans who call themselves Section Eight have cheered on their team from the stands at Soldier Field. Mike Danforth spent some noisy time with them and their enthusiastic leader.

But while the team focuses on winning a championship on the field, controversy continues over the team’s stadium under construction for the team in Southwest Suburban Bridgeview. Chicago Public Radio’s Dan Ellman has the story.
