It’s festival season in Chicago! The Millennium Park Summer Music Series kicks off Monday, followed by A Day in the Country at the Hideout, Mamby on the Beach and the Logan Square Arts, just to name a few. Lollapalooza and Pitchfork Music Festival are right around the corner.

Every summer, the city hosts about 150 festivals and about 40 of those are music related, according to Red Eye. But with ticket sales down and the cancellation of Reggae Fest and Chicago Open Air, that brings us to the question: does Chicago have too many music festivals?
