There’s a changing of the guard at Chicago’s City Hall as Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot takes office.

The mayor is in charge of hiring dozens of key positions, from her inner circle to the top jobs overseeing large public taxing bodies, such as the schools and parks. Budgets for those agencies are in the millions — and even billions — and while you may never have heard of the people overseeing them, they make huge decisions about life in the city.
