The city of Chicago is poised to sell property along the Chicago River that could be a top contender for Amazon’s second headquarters.

Developer Sterling Bay will be buying the 18-acre property for $105 million, assuming the full city council approves the sale.

The developer already owns 40 acres in the area known as North Branch, and Alderman Brian Hopkins says it has agreed to set aside more open space, including 6 acres for a park, as part of the deal.
