The Chicago Police Department has agreed to release documents detailing its use of controversial surveillance equipment. The documents are being released as part of a settlement between police and the Chicago-based transparency non-profit, Lucy Parsons Labs over devices commonly known as ”Stingrays.” Those devices provide police with personal cell phone information by posing as cell phone towers.
