When a meeting with City Council’s Committee on Health and Environmental Protection was re-scheduled last month, members of the group Mental Health Movement said the 2012 mental health clinic closures have forced those who need help off the grid, and into a frustrating limbo waiting to see doctors. Chicago Dept. of Public Health Commissioner Bechara Choucair testifies Tuesday in front of the Committee about last year’s closures, but joins us first to respond to claims from activists.
