Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) presents a new one-man performance, “BigMouth”, September 12-22, 2018, as part of a series called “Big in Belgium—Chicago”. CST says the series “represent[s] the next wave of boundary-pushing European theater.” In “BigMouth”, Belgian artist Valentijn Dhaenens utilizes “nine microphones, his voice, and indefatigable energy [to weave] together some of the most revered speeches in history—from sermons and eulogies to declarations of war and love, from the likes of Socrates, Muhammad Ali, General Patton, Osama bin Laden, and more.” We’ll talk with Dhaenens and Doreen Sayegh, manager of International & Special Projects at CST.
