10 years ago, friends Maurice George and Ashton Hall were living in New Orleans, La. when Hurricane Katrina struck the US Gulf Coast. The hurricane claimed the lives of more than 1,800 people and displaced hundreds of thousands. Ashton and his family lived in the Lower Ninth Ward where the levees broke. They were on the rooftop for three days without food. They left New Orleans five years ago to come to Chicago. Maurice has been here for the last decade. Both men join us as we mark the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. (Flickr/NOAA Photo Library)
