This week we heard about two events that celebrate the musical heritage of Chicago. First, we heard about the return of the Silver Room Block Party. We heard from: • Eric Williams, owner of the Silver Room and founder of the Block Party • Ron Trent, a DJ who has played almost every block party since the beginning Then, a tribute to Captain Walter Dyett: legendary music instructor on the South Side of Chicago during the Great Migration. We also heard about the new Walter H. Dyett High School for the Arts. We heard from: • Beulah McLoyd, the Principal of the new Walter H.
