After Mayor Rahm Emanuel made it clear he wasn’t welcome to perform in Chicago, rapper Chief Keef decided he’d appear in Hammond, Ind., this weekend. The mayor and others have said the performer’s music promotes violence. The Chicago-bred rapper decided not to appear in person at the hip hop music festival Craze Fest because there are outstanding warrants for him in Illinois. Instead there would be a hologram of his performance. But “Chief Keef 3D” only made it through one song before organizers and police shut it down and sent people home.
