The city of Chicago wants to create a special ID card available for all city residents. The mayor’s 2017 budget proposal includes $1 million dollars for the program, which is targeted toward Chicagoans who might have trouble getting an ID otherwise, like undocumented immigrants, homeless individuals or college students. WBEZ’s Lauren Chooljian reports.
