If you’re still ignoring that low credit score, it might be time to start doing something about it. An estimated 700,000 Chicagoans have bad or no credit and are clueless to the impact credit has on insurance rates, owning a home and even landing a job. A new department created by City Treasurer Stephanie Neely launches this fall and plans to educate people on some of the misconceptions associated with credit scores. We talk with Treasurer Neely about the Office of Financial Inclusion and the steps people can take towards improving their credit score in order to make their financial future a better one.
