An estimated 700,000 Chicagoans have bad or no credit and are clueless to the impact credit has on insurance rates, owning a home and even landing a job. A new department created by City Treasurer Stephanie Neely launches this fall and plans to educate people on some of the misconceptions associated with credit scores.
