The Chicago Police Department is looking to fight crime by hearing from the people who live among it by holding three town hall meetings and inviting residents to weigh in on their community policing strategy. According to CPD officials, the goal of the meetings is to hear from residents directly and to build trust between police and residents so as to better fight crime in Chicago neighborhoods.

Morning Shift talks to CPD Director of Public Engagement Glen Brooks about the community policing program and how the department is looking to build on their strategic plan to combat crime in neighborhoods.

If you want to weigh in on the CPD’s community policing strategy, join the town hall meeting. Residents can also submit their comments online at chicagopolice.org.
