In the past months there’s been a strange nationwide wave of creepy clowns trying to lure children and the trend has taken its toll on McDonald’s mascot, Ronald McDonald, arguably America’s most famous corporate clown. Oak Brook-based McDonald’s says in a statement that it’s “mindful of the current climate around clown sightings,” so it’s limiting Ronald’s participation in community events.
