- Gorilla Tango Theatre wanted me to let you know that they are looking for people to audition for A Nude Hope, which I’m sure you are aware is a burlesque show about Star Wars. But you gotta be 21. Auditions are this Saturday; if you’d like to reserve one, email a headshot and resume to mariecurieosity@gmail.com. Oh and a reminder: “May the force be with you.”

- In other weird productions to audition for: Fifty Shades of Plaid  is one option.

- This Sunday, Victory Gardens will be screening the documentary Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry; their play Equivocation, is also running now. The connection? Ai Weiwei and Shakespeare—as depicted in Cain’s play— are artists fighting to speak truth to power in difficult times and both refuse to allow their work to be used to prop up what they see as corrupt regimes,” said Director of New Play Development Geoffrey Jackson Scott in a statement.

And guess who that production stars? Marc Grapey, who was spotted at Sunday night’s Sweet Bird of Youth at the Goodman. You may know Grapey from his brief but memoral cameo role as J.J. Mitchell on Sex and the City. His attendance at Sweet Bird makes sense (not that anyone has to have a reason to go to the theater), given his connection to David Cromer, who directed the production (they won a Jeff award together in 2003 for The Cider House Rules - Part I at the Famous Door Theatre in Chicago, Illinois).

And speaking of Cromer; here’s an Interview Show interview with him:
