1. American Players Theatre 2012 season includes a new “Shakespearience” festival in August; it will include Vern Thiessen’s Shakespeare’s Will, Troilus and Cressida, In Acting Shakespeare, Twelfth Night. The rest of the season is Heroes, The Royal Family, Richard III, SkylightThe Admirable Crichton.

2. Luna Negra Dance Theater and the MCA are teaming up for Luna Nueva, which is four performances June 7 through June 10 with multiple pieces from Argentinean guest choreographer Diana Szeinblum; Requiem by company dancer and rehearsal director Mónica Cervantes; and En Busca de (In Search of) from Artistic Director Gustavo Ramírez Sansano.

3. Just for Laughs updates include Nick Offerman, a second show for Patton Oswald, TJ Miller, Brian Posehn and Kelly Carlin. 

4. More universally themed: revisiting a production more than once a season, from Ben Brantley.

5. The Goodman Theatre responded to Kelly Kleiman’s piece criticizing lack of female voices in their productions, pointing out via Twitter they’ve got three “fantastic” female playwrights for their 2012-13 season.
