1. Evanston’s Next Theatre has announced that their new managing director will be Jon Arndt. Arndt comes from the Chicago Children’s Theater, and is replacing Jim Davis, who had been the interim managing director, but is going back to production manager. 

2. Internship offer, for those who are younger readers, or older readers trying to relive their youth. Emerald City Theatre is looking for an education intern, who will assistant teach their Fall 2011 classes at their Theatre School, and also at After School programs throughout the city. It’ll probably be throughout the fall, and you gotta like kids. 

3. Wonderbat, Old People, and Carl & the Passions are all at iO tonight at 8 pm. They all have awesome names, so you should go.

4. The Apollo Theatre has yet another Greek dramaThe Trojan War: Or, How One BAD Apple Spoiled the World opens next week. Sex, arrogance, pride and jealousy all combined to cause the fall of Troy, but what of the gods who sparked the fire?” says the release. “Trapped by their decisions, Aphrodite, Helen, Eris, and Paris endlessly replay the conflict seeking absolution.” That sounds like…a recipe for disaster or hilarity.

5. Signal Ensemble Theater has announced the first production of their ninth season. It’s a pair of one-acts; East of Berlin and The Russian Play. They’re about Nazis and gravediggers (perfect pair) and it opens in October.
