Dave Wakeling once said every great band has only three really great albums. His band, The English Beat, disbanded after their third album in 1982. And now, 33 years later, Wakeling is set to release a new English Beat album. He’s done so much in those intervening years: he had another band that had some hits, he work in Hollywood and had a stint with Greenpeace. He’s also toured a lot. He’ll bring The English Beat sound to Chicago’s City Winery for a sold out show Wednesday night. He stopped by the Morning Shift for a live acoustic performance.
