The Department of Justice is hosting a series of public forums on its investigation of the Chicago Police Department.
It’s been more than six months since it first announced it was looking into CPD’s use of force policy and how it responds to citizen complaints. The division is investigating to determine whether Chicago police have systematically violated residents’ rights.
Now, Justice officials want members of the community to share their experiences with policing in Chicago. The first of three upcoming public forums will be held Wednesday night at Kennedy-King College on the West Side.
The remaining forums are scheduled for July 12 at Truman City College, and July 14 at KROC Center Chapel, 1250 W. 119th St.
