The lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and misconduct against Republican Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford was brought up in a debate between the candidates for governor Monday evening.
During the debate in Northwest suburban Hoffman Estates, candidates were allowed to ask each other questions. State Sen. Kirk Dillard, R-Westmont, asked Rutherford if more accusations are going to be raised. Dillard was referring to a federal lawsuit filed Monday by a former employee of Rutherford’s, Ed Michalowski, who said he was the victim of sexual advances by Rutherford.
The Treasurer has denied any wrongdoing.
