Kartemquin Films and The Community Film Workshop are collaborating in a brand new program that will supply professional development for “emerging filmmakers of color”. The goal is to help build more more diverse voices in Documentary Filmmaking here in Chicago (and ultimately abroad). More diverse voices means more facets of “the story” can be told. We’ll also talk with youth from The West Side Writing Project who are both documenting and asking questions about the world around them. The program was featured in the Chicago Reporter’s Chicago Muckrackers Blog in an article by Megan Cottrell. Join us live at Carter’s - 3622 W Cermak Road, or follow the conversation online.
