There is a growing debate about historical “accuracy” in film - sparked mostly by historical inconsistencies in acclaimed films like “Selma” and “Imitation Game.” Films that take on historical figures and events require some level of accuracy while at the same time allowing for dramatic freedom. Film contributor Milos Stehlik and Christian Caryl, a senior fellow at the Legatum Institute and a contributing editor at Foreign Policy give us their take on the debate around “The Imitation Game” and “Selma.”
