Irish playwright Roddy Doyle achieved widespread recognition when his novel The Commitments was made into a movie in 1991. Two years later his novel Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha won The Booker Prize, Britain’s highest literary award.  But before all that, Doyle penned the play War, and it’s finally getting a U.S. premiere by Chicago’s Seanachai Theater Company.
