The esteemed food and wine writer William “Bill” Rice once said on a hot dog tasting there with the late, great R.W. Apple, “It’s like tasting Guinness in Dublin.”
Chef Art Smith is hosting “A Chicken Fry for Equality” fundraiser for Equality Illinois at his home this Sunday, July 29, with his husband, the artist Jesus Salgueiro, reports my colleague Ari Bendersky at Eater Chicago. Smith’s Table Fifty-Two serves his famous fried chicken Sundays and Mondays only.
