Our series EcoHeroes focuses on local people working to transform our environment and ecosystem. In our latest edition, we speak with Nicole Brandon, founder and president of Project Y.E.S. (Youth Earth Savers). Nicole wants urban youth and their families to get more involved in environmental issues. Nicole told us, “With all the negative media around all these…murders [and] sad acts of violence…the daily news is usually centered around the lower to middle class communities due to lack of resources, family support [and] education…I want to showcase how a good number of those children/teens are doing some amazing things and they should be recognized for that.” (Photo: AP Images).
