Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger says the UK authorities forced the newspaper to destroy computers which contained documents used by reporter Glenn Greenwald. Greenwald has been reporting on the NSA and had received classified documents from NSA leaker Edward Snowden. On Sunday, David Miranda, Greenwald’s partner, was detained for nine hours on as he was returning to Rio de Janeiro. He says his computer and other electronic devices were confiscated. Robert McChesney, a professor of communication at the University of Illinois and author of “Dollarocracy: How the Money-and-Media Election Complex is Destroying America and Digital Disconnect,” joins us to discuss what the latest incidents say about press freedom both in the United States and elsewhere.
