On Friday, Joaquín Guzmán Loera - the Mexican drug trafficker known as “El Chapo”, was recaptured by Mexican authorities. He had been on the run for months. Guzmán’s famed escape from a Mexican prison - considered cinematic by many - was a source of embarrassment for the Mexican government. Now, even his capture is immersed in celebrity. Parallel to Guzmán’s capture, Rolling Stone magazine released a feature on the drug lord. While Guzmán still eluded authorities, actor and activist, Sean Penn, interviewed him for Rolling Stone.
