Like the frigid temperatures, mayoral debate season has arrived in full force in Chicago.

As many as 12 forums have been scheduled between now and the February 22nd run-off, including the first official mayoral forum held on December 8th at UIC.

In service to you, dear reader, we’re providing a one-stop shop for the scheduled debates as we know them.  Caveat: All details are subject to change.

Tuesday, December 14th

What:    New Chicago 2011 Mayoral Forum

When:   6:30pm

Where:  UIC Forum 725 W. Roosevelt Road

Who:     The New Chicago 2011 Coalition, featuring 20 community groups including the JCUA, the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless and the Southwest Youth Collaborative.

Details:  First broadcast debate; first attended by Emanuel.  Focus on issues of importance to youth and featuring audience of Chicago Public High School students; Candidates confirmed include Chico, Del Valle, Emanuel, Moseley-Braun; Moderators:  Phil Ponce & Carol Marin

Wednesday, January 19th

What: Chicago Mayoral Forum on Community & Environmental Issues

When:  7pm-9pm

Where:  Chicago Marriott - Downtown (Magnificent Mile)  540 N. Michigan Ave (7th Fl)

Who:  Community and environmental organizations, including SOAR, Openlands, ELPC, and others.

Details:  Confirmed candidates include Chico, Del Valle, and Moseley Braun.  Moderator will be Andy Shaw of the Better Government Association.

Thursday, January 27th

What:  WGN-TV, Chicago Tribune, City Club of Chicago Debate

Details:  Chico, Del Valle, Emanuel and Moseley Braun have all agreed to participate.  Micah Matierre and Bruce Dold will moderate.

Friday, January 28th

What:  Community PTA Mayoral Forum and 8th & 9th Ward Candidates Forum

When:  Doors open at 6pm; Forum begins at 7pm sharp

Where:  Corliss High School Auditorium (821 E. 103rd Street) 

Who:   Black Star Community PTA and Educational Village Keepers Community PTSA, with the Chicago Teachers Union and others.

Details:  Del Valle, Walls and Watkins have agreed to participate.  Chico has declined due to a conflict.  Awaiting responses from others.  Garrard McClendon of WTTW will moderate.  Advance registration required.
