More than 2,000 residents on the South Side will be given free fresh fruits and vegetables tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during a pop-up farmers market at TEAM Englewood Academy at 62nd and Stewart. The event aims to keep the spotlight on the need to eliminate food deserts in the city. Organic condiment company Tessemae’s All Natural partnered with Whole Foods Market — who will be opening in Englewood within the next year or so — and Garden Highway, among others, to bring the Crop Circles Food Desert Campaign to the area.
