EPA sets new standards on Carbon emissions

The Environmental Protection Agency has set new Carbon emission standards to be met by 2030. This summer, the EPA will release its “Clean Power Plan.” It includes a “non-mandatory” benchmark for the year 2020. Illinois plans to be more than 80 percent compliant towards the 2020 goal, but many U.S. states are resisting the changes. We talk about the new Carbon standards and similar regulations abroad with energy policy expert, Steve Frenkel. He’s Midwest director for the Union of Concerned Scientists.
