The Environmental Protection Agency has set new Carbon emission standards to be met by 2030. This summer, the EPA will release its “Clean Power Plan.” It includes a “non-mandatory” benchmark for the year 2020. Illinois plans to be more than 80 percent compliant towards the 2020 goal, but many U.S. states are resisting the changes.
