To some, reality television is the bane of society. Others agree that it’s the bane of society — but pay attention to it anyway, for the humor of it all.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi of the MTV sensation Jersey Shore hasn’t been able to escape this very problem. Last week, the reality star announced to US Weekly that, after weeks of rumors, she was in fact pregnant. She’s also engaged, to her boyfriend Jionni LaValle.

Eric T. Roach and Anderson Lawfer write the blog Reviews You Can Iews (tagline: “Reviews of everything under the sun AND the sun!”). They’re also comedians and performers — basically exactly the type of people to find the exploits of Snooki entertaining and worth satirizing. Read an excerpt of their thoughts, or listen below:

Andy: What is our political topic today?

Eric: Snooki’s pregannnttttt!

Andy: Nice! So…what is out political topic for today going to be?

Eric: No you don’t understand, Andy. Snooki, everyone’s favorite stereotype from MTV’s smash hit, Jersey Shore, has gotten herself knocked up by her now-fiance Jionni LaValle, and is ready to clean up her act.

Andy: Well yeah, but what does that have to do with anything? She’s not important.

Eric: GASP! Andy, you surprise me. Don’t you know, at this point in time, in American and World history, Snooki getting pregnant is the most important event since 9/11/01?!

Andy: Well that can’t be true. I know that her show was a cultural phenomenon but I just thought America was interested in those people for the same reason we fought the War in Iraq: because of the oil.
