EU leaders debate tougher sanctions on Russia

The EU is considering stepping up its sanctions on Russia if Russia does not agree to help facilitate full access to the crash sight of Malaysian airlines flight 17. This includes halting the supply of weapons to eastern Ukraine. EU ambassadors are meeting in Brussels today to discuss the proposals on the table, many of which are aimed at restricting Russia’s access to European financial markets. We’ll take a look at how the potential new restrictions could impact the Russian and European economies with Peter Spiegel, the Brussels bureau chief for the Financial Times.
