Last week Robert Lady, the former Milan CIA station chief, was reportedly arrested near Panama’s border with Costa Rica. He was later released to the United States. Lady was sentenced to nine years in jail by an Italian court for his role in the 2003 abduction of Abu Omar in Milan. He was convicted in absentia along with 22 other Americans for their role in the “extraordinary rendition” of the Egyptian cleric. Italy has no extradition treaty with Panama. Michael Ratner, president emeritus of the Center for Constitutional Rights, joins us to discuss the case. (Photo: Wikimedia).
