The Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) is showing a photo exhibition of sexual trafficking survivors called More Than A Survivor: More Than A Story. It features 22 women from across the U.S., once victims of sexual trafficking, who are now leaders in fighting against the criminal practice. 

Chicago has become a prime location for trafficking. We talk with local survivors, including Marian Hatcher, who is now human trafficking coordinator for Cook County. She’s joined by her daughters, who lived through their mother’s disappearance, and Shamere McKenzie, who escaped sexual slavery to become CEO of the Sun Gate Organization, an anti-trafficking organization. 

Hatcher and McKenzie are both featured in the LUMA exhibition. More Than A Survivor: More Than A Story runs through March 19th, 2016.
