The FDA recently recommended tighter restrictions on opiods which are commonly used in prescription painkillers. Abuse of this drugs has increased in recent years, leading to addiction. We review what new restrictions would look like and talk with Dr. Celeste Napier, director of the Research and Recovery Center for Compulsive Behaviors and Addiction at Rush University, about how use of these drugs has changed in recent years.
