The hope of comprehensive immigration reform is spurring some Chicago-area immigrant groups to organize around their own agendas. Among them are Filipino-Americans. They want Congress to remember the families of Filipino veterans who fought for the U.S. in World War II. In some cases, those vets have waited almost 20 years for their children to join them in the U.S. WBEZ’s Odette Yousef has one family’s story.
