Honor Flight Chicago, a non-profit, organizes several flights each year dedicated to bringing Chicago area World War Two veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the memorial, among others. Since the organization’s inception six years ago, close to 5,000 of the 25,000 local World War Two vets have flown on the special flight to the nation’s Capitol. WBEZ’s Kathy Chaney tagged along on a recent Honor Flight. (photo Honor Flight Chicago)
