In the past couple of decades, the United States has gone crazy for ramen. Not only the cheap packaged stuff but also gourmet ramen shops that have popped up all over the country. What most people aren’t doing is making their own broths, noodles and condiments at home. Author Hugh Amano and illustrator Sarah Becan want to change that. The Chicago duo have produced a new book “Let’s Make Ramen.” It looks and reads like a comic book but promises to make homemade ramen accessible. Worldview contributor Monica Eng and the Chicago Tribune’s Louisa Chu recently talked to the pair at the “Let’s Make Ramen” release party.
