When we’re feeling hungry, we usually open the fridge or head on over to the grocery store — but where does that food actually come from? And what are the obstacles to affordable, healthy choices? These questions have captivated author Kevin Walker’s attention. Walker’s recent book “The Grand Food Bargain And the Mindless Drive for More” offers “a powerful look at the global consequences of America’s modern food system.” Walker grew up on a farm and now looks at America’s ever-increasing levels of food production. He joins this installment of Food Mondays to talk about his book and how we can change consumption patterns in America. In discussion with Walker is Monica Eng, Worldview’s food, health and culture contributor.
