Former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis gained global attention when he took on the EU leadership over the conditions they laid out for a bailout of Greece. 

In his new book, And the Weak Suffer What They Must? Europe’s Crisis and America’s Economic Future, Varoufakis examines the history of Europe’s debt crisis. 

He takes a critical look at austerity policies and lays out a series of policy changes he thinks are necessary to address the crisis. 

Varoufakis joins us to talk about the kinds of policy changes he’d like to see put in place.
