Former Chicago police Superintendent Garry McCarthy is criticizing the Black Lives Matter movement. McCarthy says police officers have a bad reputation in the African-American community — and even says they deserve it. But he says today’s political climate is empowering criminals. McCarthy gave a speech downtown Monday on policing in the U.S and why Chicago’s murder numbers have gone up.
