The body of Patrick Karegeya, the former head of Rwanda’s military intelligence and a critic of President Paul Kagame, was recently found in a hotel room in Johannesburg. It appears that he may have been strangled to death. Brian Endless, director of African Studies at Loyola University and a senior adviser to the Hotel Rwanda Rusesabagina Foundation, believes this could be a politically motivated assassination.
