North Korea has tested, or launched, more than 20 missiles this year, including intercontinental ballistic missiles. Many experts believe North Korea has the capability to produce missiles that could reach the continental U.S. Tensions between U.S. President, Donald Trump, and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has many countries in the region on edge.
As Trump prepares for his first trip to Asia, we’ll ask a former diplomat about his concerns over a nuclear North Korea. Dr. Han Sung-Joo is the Marshall Bouton fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and professor emeritus at Korea University. He served as South Korea’s foreign minister and ambassador to the U.S. Dr. Han played a critical role in the 1994 Geneva Agreed Framework on North Korea.
