Incumbent Democrat Todd Stroger has more than $640,000 in his campaign account - though the bulk of that comes from investment returns.

Stroger hasn’t announced whether he’s running for re-election, but if he does, he could face tough opposition from Chicago Alderman Toni Preckwinkle.

She has $340,000 to spend on her bid for Stroger’s seat - but she’s out-fundraising him nearly two-to-one.

Other notable Democrats include Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Dorothy Brown and Sheriff Tom Dart.

Both have raised more than $200,000.

Dart has not yet announced whether he’s running for the seat.

On the Republican side, former State Sen. Roger Keats says he’s jumping into the race.

But he has not reported on fundraising.
