A new week…and new week of scrutiny for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. The FBI is investigating his background following that gripping Senate hearing featuring both Kavanaugh and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused him of sexual assault.An estimated 20 million people watched Blasey Ford’s testimony, where she gave a detailed description of what happened. Judge Kavanaugh has categorically denied the claims. After hearing Blasey Ford and Kavanaugh speak, many survivors started to share their own experiences of sexual assault and violence. We talked with two experts about what you can do to emotionally protect yourself from the news and rhetoric surrounding the Kavanaugh hearings—and best ways to support survivors who may be in your life— are Sharmili Majmudar is the interim CEO at Women Employed.
