Global Activism: Ending Child Labor In India

India has one of the highest concentrations of child labor on the planet. Where Anurada Bhosale lives in Maharashtra state, children are primarily employed in brickmaking or in the sugar cane fields. Andurada founded the organzation Avani to help end child labor in India. Avani has done grassroots organizing that has helped motivate families and brickyard owners to stop sending children to work. A former child laborer herself, Anurada has built an organization that rescues child laborers, gives them a place to heal and attacks the root causes of child labour. She joins us to discuss the steps to ending child labor in India.
