World Music Festival Chicago is underway and one of this year’s artist’s hails from Estonia. This week on Global notes with Morning Shift and Radio M host Tony Sarabia, we welcome Northern Estonian fiddle player and vocalist Maarja Nuut. Nuut is fascinated by the tunes of old village musicians and the way they structure their music. Her approach is minimalist and she takes listeners on aural journey over constantly changing soundscapes which combine traditional dance tunes, songs, and stories. (Photo courtesy of Maarja Nuut)
