Today is the one year since Hurricane Maria made landfall on Puerto Rico. On this week’s Global Notes segment, Vocalo’s Beat Latino host and producer Catalina Maria Johnson will trace the musical effects of the hurricane on the island, famous for a rich musical tradition. She’ll also feature music from an artist who’s performing this weekend at a benefit concert at Chicago’s Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center.
