Gov. Rauner Signs Law To Allow Watchdog To Probe Springfield Ethics Complaints

Governor Bruce Rauner signed a new law on Thursday letting a recently appointed legislative watchdog begin investigating backlogged ethics complaints. But he says the measure doesn’t go far enough. Rauner wants lawmakers to consider getting rid of requirement that ethics complaints involving the legislature be filed within 18 months of a violation.
